Scope of Position

The Origination and Power Marketing Analyst/Sr. Analyst will create and use financial modeling for competitive offers, conduct research and analysis, prepare pitch materials, and provide analytical support that enables the Origination and Power Marketing team to source and negotiate renewable power transactions with leading utility buyers. Analysis performed by the Analyst will assist in developing EDFR’s market strategy depending on regional assignment and provide support for dialogues with customers. The Analyst will be responsible for managing the Origination and Power Marketing team’s customer database.

Responsibilities

Assist with the front-end structuring of offtake proposals to drive success with closing transactions, including:

  • Develop structures and analyze pricing inputs to support offers that meet EDFR’s financial metrics while being competitive in the marketplace.
  • Research utilizing internal and external tools to gain market intel for key initiatives.
  • Gather competitive intelligence and conduct competitive analysis of EDFR’s pipeline projects.

Optimize and maximize internal models and analysis to support customer proposals, including:

  • Initiate pricing requests through EDFR’s pricing workflow and work to optimize results.
  • Contribute to and monitor the storing of bid-related documents in EDFR’s database.
  • Actively utilize EDFR’s CRM (Salesforce) to monitor account activity, run analysis on deal flow and ensure data quality.

Analyze and evaluate renewable energy market data and formulate customer pitch strategies.

  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations for customers.
  • Run webmap tools identifying competitors and potential offtakers for priority projects.
  • Read and analyze available data including utility IRPs to identify high priority demand.

Physical Requirements:

Office environment work with occasional business travel.

Working Conditions:

95% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 5% of time is spent outside of the office visiting EDFR offices or attend external meetings/events.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

 

Analyst:

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in Business, Energy, Engineering, or related field.
  • 1-3 yrs experience in energy, investment banking, or related analytical role
  • Demonstrated passion for or experience in renewable energy.

Sr. Analyst:

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in Business, Energy, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3yrs experience in energy, investment banking, or related analytical role
  • Demonstrated passion for or experience in renewable energy.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of economic and financial principles
  • Significant experience using MS Office suite.
  • Proficiency in database management and spreadsheet applications
  • Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter, friendly personality, good team player
  • High degree of honesty and integrity
  • Capacity and willingness to perform job duties under time pressure from external and internal deadlines and manage multiple workflows simultaneously.
  • Able to work well with geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

 

This role’s annual base salary range is:

Analyst is between $72,000 and $120,000.
