Scope of Position

EDF Renewables North America is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider with over 35 years of experience. Lead and support the development of strategy for and the procurement of the key components that make up EDF Renewables’ projects and products, including onshore wind turbines, energy storage solutions, solar modules, solar inverters, tracking systems and other key technologies with a focus on onshore wind.

  • Category Management and Contracting: Capture business demands and handle competitive tendering, review and levelize vendor proposals, negotiation and contract execution for key goods and services as needed, ensuring that agreements are executed within the required timeframe. Make recommendations as to which supplier/contractor/technology should be deployed including leading contract negotiations and interfaces with a cross-functional team. Own and refine the procurement guidance to the business including methodology, tools, and processes. Support the demands from capital projects including drafting and providing price forecasts, assumption rationales and project procurement plans while representing procurement in internal and external meetings. 
  • Risk Management: Identify and ensure effective risk mitigation through collaboration with HSE, legal, credit, insurance and other key stakeholders. 
  • Business Line Support: Lead and support enhanced stakeholder integration combined with development of an understanding of supply market and cost trends to drive the transformation of category sourcing capabilities and value creationInfluence the GSP organization’s leaders to drive successful sourcing events, inclusive of combining multiple project needs into a single enterprise sourcing event and standardize across suppliers and services.

  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain multiple supplier relationships by conducting regular assessments of suppliers including business review meetings, analysis of supplier’s competitive advantages, understanding of supplier pricing roadmaps, leading the cross functional qualification process, and performing factory audits.

  • Special Projects and Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to regular and ad-hoc reporting.

Qualifications

           Education/Experience:

  • At least 7 years of procurement or relevant professional experience with a minimum of 3 years of experience required in the renewable energy industry. 
  • MBA/MS degree or 2 years of strategic procurement experience. 
  • At least 2 years of contracting and negotiation experience. 
  • Bachelor’s degree with preference for Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or Business Management. 
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position. 
  • Preferred certifications are a plus: Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) from the Institute of Supply Chain Management (ISM), Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute. 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

 

  • Superior knowledge in procurement strategies, processes, and best practices including extensive experience with contract development and management, supplier management and claims management; 
  • Draft, negotiate and manage high value and high-risk major contracts for goods and services utilizing strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen; 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, executive presence, interpersonal and presentation skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively; 
  • Establish relationships, influence, and negotiate competing priorities among business partners suppliers, markets, and trends within the renewable energy industry; 
  • Apply efficient procurement processes, structures and analytical tools while having an eye to make changes to process and procedures based on knowledge of current business needs; 
  • Challenge "conventional" thinking while considering others views and proactively persuades others utilizing facts; 
  • A strong eye for detail to ensure accuracy in exchange of information and contracts; 
  • Be a team player and develop a working understanding of key commercial and technical drivers of business success using this knowledge to make recommendations to the business to drive operational changes; 
  • Work independently and translate team goals into clear, flexible action plans for self in a fast-changing environment; and 
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook and SAP and learn new systems and tools rapidly. 

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit or stand at computer for a reasonable length of time typing and reading. Regularly required to walk or stand. 

Working Conditions:

  • 75% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment
  • 25% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors’ and/or internal customers’ sites in addition to attending various conferences and meetings. 

This role’s annual base salary range is between $115,500 and $192,000.
