Salary range: The full pay range for this role is $151,800 - $253,000 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.

 

Scope of Job:

The Director of SAP Practice is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, implementation, and management of the organization’s SAP landscape and associated cloud platforms. This role ensures integration, optimization, and performance of enterprise systems to support evolving business needs. The director will lead a cross-functional team and collaborate with business units, vendors, and IT stakeholders to drive modernization and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership – 35%

  • Define and lead the SAP and cloud strategy in alignment with enterprise objectives.
  • Provide vision and direction to cross-functional teams supporting SAP and cloud solutions.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis.
  • Oversee architecture decisions and modernization roadmaps.

Vendor and Partner Management – 25%

  • Manage key vendor relationships and evaluate service delivery and performance.
  • Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Ensure partners comply with security and compliance standards.

Operations and Service Management – 20%

  • Ensure stability, availability, and performance of SAP and cloud platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement in incident, change, and release management practices.
  • Collaborate with support teams to maintain high service levels.

Financial Planning and Governance – 15%

  • Develop and manage budgets for SAP and cloud initiatives.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure alignment with approved investments.
  • Implement governance models for demand management and prioritization.

Team Development and Collaboration – 5%

  • Mentor team members and build capability in enterprise application support and delivery.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.

Supervision of Others: This will have direct reports.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise systems, including SAP and cloud.
  • Experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Deep expertise in SAP and cloud ecosystems (e.g., S/4HANA, AWS)
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning capabilities
  • Knowledge of IT service management and enterprise architecture
  • Excellent vendor negotiation and contract management skills
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

Physical Requirements:

 

Working Conditions:

80% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 20% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors’ and/or internal customers’ sites in additional to attending various conferences and meetings.
