Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is$73,800 - $123,000 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.

 

Scope of Job: This position is directly responsible for assisting the Sr. Community Engagement Strategy and Research Manager on a variety of project strategies in a variety of states. The Sr. Community Engagement Strategy and Research Specialist will conduct desktop analysis and community research to support the creation of formal deliverables such as local affairs risk assessments and community engagement reports for project communities. The Sr. Community Engagement Strategy and Research Specialist will also manage community donations, provide logistical support for landowner and community events, and assist in the creation and delivery of creative materials and social media content. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts desktop research, analysis, and reporting on local permitting requirements and community sentiment towards development and renewable energy. Stays informed of local developments and activities through monitoring local press and social media and through collaboration with the Land Acquisition and Development teams.
  • Provides support to the Sr. Community Engagement Strategy and Research Manager including but not limited to: Event & supply logistical planning, administrative support, developing communications materials such as letters, newsletters, and presentations, and general service inquiry support for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assists Community Engagement team members with development and improvement of project specific community outreach plans.
  • Recommends, coordinates, and records donations to various community organizations on behalf of our projects.
  • Assists Community Engagement team with stakeholder relationship management and represents the company at various events including but not limited to landowner and community stakeholder meetings, public events, industry conferences, and local government forums.
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervision of Others: None

 

Working Conditions: 80% of time is spent in the office environment utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 20% of time is spent outside of the office traveling to EDF offices, project communities, and various conferences and meetings. 

 

Fiscal Responsibilities: Company card holder.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required (Business, Communications, Public Policy, Psychology, Behavioral Science, etc.)
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent performance in academic and/or professional experiences.
  • Experience in the energy industry, public affairs, local government affairs, project development, digital media, and/or zoning and permitting is a strong plus.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Requires knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Office and Teams.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Public speaking experience.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking.
    • Ability to work independently within a team-oriented environment.

Physical Requirements: Requires ability to handle light duty administrative tasks such as stuffing envelopes, preparing (no more than 20 pound) boxes for shipping/receiving, logistical meeting set up and support.
