Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is $133,000 - $221,700 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.

 

Scope of Job: Leads our enterprise data governance function and manages a team of data professionals to implement data strategies that drive business value and compliance. Directs all aspects of data governance including program management, data protection, metadata quality, and master data management. Sr Manager, D&A Program and Governance is responsible for establishing frameworks and practices that transform how our organization harnesses data assets to accelerate the clean energy transition while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Identifies, recruits, coaches, and develops direct reports.
    • Manages the work of the team and interfaces with other departments or areas within DT to optimize outcomes.
    • Mentors team members and supports a high-performance culture.
    • Promotes collaboration, continuous improvement, and cross-functional learning.
    • Optimizes people processes.
    • Develops and executes enterprise data governance strategy aligned with organizational goals.
    • Leads team of data professionals and establishes clear performance expectations.
    • Partners with leadership to translate strategic initiatives into executable programs.
    • Reports on governance progress to leadership.
  • Governance Framework & Program Management
    • Implements and manages a data governance framework addressing quality, metadata, master data, and data protection.
    • Develops and implements enterprise-wide data policies.
    • Oversees data governance initiatives and ensures successful delivery.
    • Manages program resources, budgets, and timelines effectively.
    • Monitors and reports program results.
  • Stakeholder Management & Compliance
    • Builds relationships with key business stakeholders across all business lines.
    • Addresses change management obstacles to program success.
    • Translates governance concepts into clear business benefits.
    • Ensures compliance with data regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
    • Partners with Security, Legal, and Compliance teams on data protection.
    • Stays current on emerging data regulations, especially for AI and analytics.
  • Technology Enablement
    • Collaborates with IT to embed governance in technology solutions.
    • Oversees selection and implementation of data governance tools in accordance with The Group Standards.
    • Balances governance controls with data accessibility requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Supervision of Others: Up to 6 direct reports

 

Working Conditions: 95% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 5% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors’ and/or internal customers’ sites in addition to attending various conferences and meetings. 

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in master data management, data quality, data governance, or related fields
  • 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role related to data management.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing or significantly enhancing data management functions.
  • Background in renewable energy or utilities sector preferred.
  • Track record of successful master data projects, including process design and implementation.
  • Proven experience implementing and managing master data in the energy sector or similar complex industries.
  • Change management experience in data-centric transformations.
  • One or more of the following or similar certifications:
    • DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) - Master or Expert level
    • Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP) - Master Data Management
    • Data Privacy Certification (CIPP or CIPM)
    • SAP Certification in relevant modules
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar project management certification
    • Change management certification (PROSCI, ADKAR, etc.)

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of master data management concepts, methodologies, and best practices
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and their application to master data
  • Leadership skills with the ability to build and develop a team of technical specialists.
  • Excellent project management capabilities, including planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Communication and stakeholder management skills at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of privacy management best practices and regulations.
