Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is $133,000 to $221,700 annually. The target range for this position is $160,000 to $186,000 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.

 

Scope of Job: The Associate Director - Supply Chain is an important leadership role focused on supporting the execution of the end-to-end supply chain strategy for the Asset Optimization business line of EDF power solutions. This position will oversee strategic sourcing, effective inventory replenishment, and ensure timely logistics for all equipment and services essential to our diverse range of clean energy projects in the U.S. and Canada.


Reporting to the SVP – Asset Optimization Operations, this role will lead a high-performing team of 20-25 Supply Chain professionals spread across North America, promoting operational excellence, cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and the integration of sustainability principles throughout the supply chain ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Vision:
    • Lead the execution of a cohesive North American Supply Chain Strategy that aligns with EDF power solutions' business objectives and commitment to sustainability.
    • Provide insights on market trends, supply chain risks, and opportunities to inform critical business decisions and enhance project planning processes.
    • Inspire and manage a diverse team of 20-25 supply chain professionals across various North American locations, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Procurement & Commercial Excellence:
    • Oversee strategic sourcing and procurement activities for capital equipment, spare parts, and service agreements related to wind, solar, and storage technologies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
    • Actively participate in commercial negotiations with suppliers and OEMs to secure favorable pricing, delivery schedules, and terms that benefit the organization.
    • Develop and nurture strong supplier relationships to drive performance excellence and value creation across the supply chain.
    • Identify and implement cost reduction and value engineering initiatives throughout project lifecycles.
  • Operational Excellence & Risk Management:
    • Manage aspects of the end-to-end supply chain process, including demand forecasting, material planning, and logistics, to ensure timely delivery to operating assets.
    • Prepare and manage annual operational budgets, implementing cost controls to maintain a cost-effective team and logistics operation while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
    • Proactively identify supply chain risks and develop contingency plans as needed.
    • Champion the adoption of advanced supply chain technologies (e.g., ERP system improvements, Ariba) to optimize operational efficiency and streamline processes.
    • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement initiatives, foster transparency and accountability, and evaluate supply chain performance and service levels. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop actionable strategies.
  • Sustainability & Compliance:
    • Work with cross-functional teams to further drive the integration of sustainability and ethical sourcing standards into procurement practices.
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies, contractual obligations and regulatory requirements across North America (U.S. and Canada).

Supervision of Others: Direct leadership – 5-8; indirect leadership up to 25

Working Conditions: 80% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 20% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors’ and/or internal customers’ sites in additional to attending various conferences and meetings. 

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • MBA or master’s degree in a related discipline preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing, preferably in the renewable energy or industrial project sector.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing and contract negotiation for capital equipment or complex services. 3+ years of people management experience, including leading teams.
  • Experience in implementing or optimizing major ERP systems (e.g., SAP) within a supply chain function preferred.
  • Certification such as CPIM or CSCP preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Deep technical knowledge of key renewable energy components (solar modules, inverters, wind turbines, battery storage systems) preferred.
  • Understanding of international trade, logistics and supply chains within North America.
