Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • 35% Category Management:
    • Category Management and Contracting: Support business needs by assisting in competitive tendering processes, including conducting reviews and evaluations of vendor proposals to align with organizational goals. Participate in contract negotiations and assist in ensuring timely execution of key goods and services agreements that meet quality, risk, and compliance standards. Provide recommendations regarding suppliers, contractors, and technologies under direct guidance from Associate Director, Wind Strategic Procurement and cross-functional input. Contribute to the refinement of procurement strategies, methodologies, tools, and processes ensuring adherence to defined goals and creating incremental value within specific project categories. Represent procurement in internal and external meetings.
    • Risk Management: Assist in identifying risks and support mitigation efforts through collaboration with HSES, legal, credit, insurance, and other key stakeholders.
    • Business Line Support:  Collaborate with stakeholders to support integration efforts,  fostering alignment and shared objectives across the organization. Assist in developing insights into supply market dynamics and cost trends to contribute to improvements in category sourcing events and procurement activities. Support GSP organization leaders in executing sourcing events, including combining related project requirements into coordinated procurement activities, while adhering to existing or evolving strategies and standards established by Associate Director, Wind Strategic Procurement and senior leadership.
  • 35% Supplier Management:
    • Support the management of supplier relationships by assisting with regular assessments of suppliers, including conducting business review meetings under direction of Associate Director, Wind Strategic Procurement. Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze supplier competitive advantages and pricing roadmaps for incremental cost optimization. Assist in cross-functional qualification processes and contribute to factory audits as required, ensuring adherence to organizational procurement standards.
  • 10% Governance and Compliance: 
    • Monitoring and Auditing Procurement Activities. Support the monitoring and auditing of procurement activities to ensure compliance with governance policies and processes. Assist in analyzing data to identify opportunities for improvement within specific categories. Contribute to the development of insights that enable continuous improvement in sourcing activities and procurement activities.
    • Performance Metrics, Reporting and Documentation: Keep detailed records of procurement activities and guide stakeholders involved in the procurement process. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of procurement initiatives and regularly report on KPIs and other reports, as required.
  • 20% Special Projects and Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to regular and ad-hoc reporting. Assist in identifying opportunities for process optimization and participate in initiatives aimed at driving continuous improvement within procurement activities. Depending on the scope and complexity, the Associate Sourcing Manager may take a lead role in specific projects that enhance operational efficiency, supplier performance, or procurement strategies while working under the guidance of senior team members.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

 

  • Minimum of 4 years of procurement or relevant professional experience with a minimum of 3 years of experience required in the renewable energy industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or Business Management required.
  • MBA/MS degree or 1 year of strategic procurement experience preferred.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Requires knowledge of, skill regarding, and/or ability to:

  • Knowledge in procurement strategies, processes, and best practices including experience with contract development and management, supplier management and claims management.
  • Draft, negotiate and manage high value and high-risk major contracts for goods and services utilizing strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, executive presence, interpersonal and presentation skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively.
  • Establish relationships, influence, and negotiate competing priorities among business partners suppliers, markets, and trends within the renewable energy industry.
  • Apply efficient procurement processes, structures and analytical tools while having an eye to make changes to process and procedures based on knowledge of current business needs.
  • Challenge "conventional" thinking while considering others’ views and proactively persuades others utilizing facts.
  • A strong eye for detail to ensure accuracy in exchange of information and contracts.
  • Be a team player and develop a working understanding of key commercial and technical drivers of business success using this knowledge to make recommendations to the business to drive operational changes.
  • Work independently and translate team goals into clear, flexible action plans for self in a fast-changing environment.
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook and SAP and learn new systems and tools rapidly.

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit or stand at computer for a reasonable length of time typing and reading. Regularly required to walk or stand.

 

Working Conditions:

80% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 20% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors’ and/or internal customers’ sites in addition to attending various conferences and meetings.
