Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is $95,200 - $158,700 annually, and the good faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $120,000 to $132,000 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.
Scope of Job: The Technical Safety Instructor is a highly specialized role responsible for leading the design, development, delivery, and compliance of all safety and technical training programs. This role ensures full compliance with OSHA (USA) and Canadian Provincial safety regulations, integrates training in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS), and focuses heavily on the technical competence required for Renewable Energy Technicians (e.g., wind, solar, storage). The role requires a tenured candidate with a multi-disciplinary HSES approach with extensive technical field experience in the renewable energy sector of wind, solar, & Battery Energy Storage Systems, as well as a vast experience in training, curriculum development, and professional development initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Supervision of Others: The Principal Technical Safety Instructor is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Renewable Energy Technicians and other technical training peers, specifically in the performance of safety-related tasks. This role provides leadership and guidance to all team members.
Working Conditions: 80% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 20% of time is spent outside of the office working with site mangers, technicians, and contractors in the performance of training at EDF Renewable facilities. While on the job site, one must wear personal protective equipment (PPE), always including a hard hat and safety glasses. Each job site may be different and must be accessed individually. Travel will be required based on the needs of the company.
Fiscal Responsibilities: The Technical Safety Instructor is accountable for managing cross-departmental budgets exceeding $250,000. This role requires meticulous adherence to all company fiscal policies and procedures, ensuring that all spending remains within the constraints authorized by the Executive Team while successfully achieving departmental goals.
