Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is $95,200 to $158,700 annually, and the good faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $114,300 to $133,350 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.

 

Scope of Job

 In alignment with AO and EDFps strategies and core values, manage the overall financial, operational, commercial, contractual, and regulatory performance of assigned renewable energy projects in EDFps portfolio to realize the highest value from the assets. Monitor and maintain contractual and regulatory compliance and reporting.  Proactively work with project's operational management teams and various internal departments to continuously maximize project's performance, improve project's financial outcomes, and measure their success.

 

This position is Hybrid, based in San Diego, CA (Rancho Bernardo). Hybrid is a minimum of three days a week in-office.

 

Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of safety by:
    • Performing safety observations and team engagements
    • Exhibiting safety behaviors that are in line with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards
    • Being aware of policies and procedures
    • Attending annual Safety Training, as applicable
  • Deliver highest value/return of the asset by meeting or exceeding project’s budgeted annual EBITDAs:
    • Develop budgets and manage their adherence
    • Review adequacy of projects' cash levels while (a) ensuring timely payment of all expenses, (b) identifying and eliminating wasteful expenditures, and (c) keeping a long-term perspective on overall business needs
    • Ensure coverage ratios (DCSR, RCSR) are calculated accurately and meet required thresholds
    • Continuously track projects’ performance to deliver P&L results
    • Monitor correlation of operational performance with financial KPIs
    • Facilitate, review, and approve allowance for investors distributions and capital investments
    • Help in resolution of operational issues; facilitate paths for course correction and engage the right resources when needed
    • Continuously seek and analyze value creation opportunities that maximize revenue
    • Collaborate and engage in the decision making and development of operational work plans (what & when) as well as in engagement of SMEs, when necessary.
  • Ensure environmental & regulatory compliance:
    • Monitor policy and market changes impacting the project(s)
    • Ensure regulatory & environmental filings are completed adequately and on schedule
    • Respond to audit requests
    • Work with internal regulatory compliance teams to ensure compliance needs are understood and met
  • Ensure contractual compliance:
    • Continuously monitor and proactively manage contractual deliverables utilizing contract compliance management tools (i.e. Bluepoint)
    • Monitor contractual obligations of service providers while holding them accountable
    • Manage warranty claim processes and successful resolution of applicable warranty claims
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Working Conditions:

75% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 25% of time is spent outside of the office visiting project sites and attending various conferences and trainings.  

 

Fiscal Responsibilities: Must work within the budget constraints as authorized by the Regional Senior Director of Asset Optimization, while successfully following all policies and procedures related to employees’ fiscal responsibilities in doing the day-to-day job

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience:
  • Four-year degree and a minimum of 4-6 years of applicable working experience required, or combined years of collective applicable working experience.
  • Advanced degree (MS or MBA), or certifications (Asset Management Certification, PMP, Lean Six Sigma etc.) are all pluses.
  • Requires understanding of both contracts and P&L management as well as previous exposure to project planning or project management.
  • Prior experience with operations, asset management and energy markets a plus.  
  • Understanding how regional ISOs and RTOs function and operate is a plus.
  • Experience in commercial negotiations and background in continuous improvement methodologies desired.
  • Ability to work in complex, relational environments.
