Scope of Job: The Project Development Associate position facilitates and supports the Company’s solar PV and battery storage project development efforts, including locating and contracting with landowners for project‑appropriate sites throughout North America; performing project diligence; filing interconnection applications, reviewing studies, and supporting negotiation of interconnection agreements; identifying, applying for, and securing required project approvals including permits and licenses; engaging community stakeholders; managing external consultants; and coordinating project design with internal engineering and construction professionals.  The Project Development Associate will have strong organizational skills; a deep passion for renewable energy and storage; the ability to communicate effectively with landowners, government officials, and project stakeholders; and experience in renewable energy or battery storage project development as described above. Location:  This position will be based in the Southwest US, with preference to candidates already located in/near Las Cruces, NM or El Paso, TX.  Consideration may be given to candidates also located in other areas in NM, TX, AZ, NV, or CO. Physical Requirements: Traversing project site visits with varying terrain and weather conditions. Working Conditions: Approximately 60% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe, CAD etc.), telephones, and general office equipment.  Approximately 40% of the time is spent travelling and interacting with customers, landowners, members of the public, elected officials, consultants and other stakeholders at the project site or other meeting locations as required.  Fulfills all delegated tasks many of which may be loosely associated with the primary assignment of the job description.

Manage multiple projects and initiativessimultaneously, and comfortable interfacing and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, includingour in‐house engineering, implementation & valuation team, facility and landowners, utility officials, and otherstrategic partners. Responsibilities extend across all phases of Company Business Development including leadgeneration, customer relationship management, market‐specific strategy and analysis, direct marketing,business development campaign plan creation and execution, and proposal development and management.

We deliver grid-scale power: wind (onshore and offshore), solar photovoltaic, and storage projects; distribution-scale power: solar and storage; asset optimization: technical, operational, and commercial expertise to maximize the performance of generating projects, and onsite solutions, through the Company’s PowerFlex affiliate, offering a full suite of onsite energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers: solar, storage, EV charging, energy management systems, and microgrids.   We are considering candidates at the Director or Senior Director level, with a preference for those that have relevant large-scale utility development experience in California and/or Nevada..  Responsible for managing a portfolio of development projects, from the land origination, interconnection and permitting phases, to supporting Origination and VaT in the marketing of the project, followed by pre-construction preparation and support through the project’s commissioning and project financing and preparing any required documentation to aid in any investor conversations for DSSA, O&M or Generation. Responsible for budget, permitting, pricing, marketing, management, and internal communications for the portfolio of projects assigned to them as Phase Leader. This includes either leading or supporting pricing and technical aspects of power Request for Proposals (RFPs) from any and all clients interested in purchasing power from the portfolio of projects, managing current contracts and forecasting and scoping future needs of pre-capitalized and capitalized renewable energy projects. Responsible for coordinating the preparation of all materials to allow for a smooth transition of projects from the origination team to the financing, EPC teams and asset management, and to other Phase Leaders. Act as a clearinghouse for development related questions from the Financing and EPC teams once the responsibility for the project has been transferred. Facilitate productive communication between internal groups and offices, and develop and implement systems and policies consistent with those specified by Management

The AD will coordinate with the regional Director(s), VP and OPM team to set specific short, medium, and long-term goals for the submarket and will manage internal and external resources to achieve those goals. The AD will be responsible for the direct supervision of Project Developers and/or Project Development Managers and will be responsible for assessing their skills and development needs and providing opportunities for growth and development to those individuals.   The Senior Manager - will support regional leadership in the establishment of regional development strategy and new business development initiatives.
